It can be seen from the detailed engagement process outlined below that we intend to invest a substantial amount of our time and expertise in first understanding whether or not PAMS is right for you and your organisation before any contractual commitment is made by you.

Initial contact & discussion

Booked via our free assessment form HERE and usually performed by phone and email. Is our Procurement Advice & Mentoring Service suitable for you?

If suitable, arrange a date and place for an initial meeting

We would expect to visit you at your premises.

Complete a fact-finder questionnaire

We will provide you with a questionnaire for you to complete and return, preferably in advance of the initial exploratory meeting, but not essential.

Initial exploratory meeting / fact finding discussion

Conducted face-to-face at your premises or another location of your choice (within reason). Up to one day duration.

Assessment of your needs and wants and proposed introductory package of deliverables

We will make an honest assessment of whether the service would be of genuine value to you and will advise you accordingly. Then, we will make a selection from the following deliverables for your bespoke introductory package:

  • Initial, high level spend review
  • Procurement policy document
  • Procurement procedure
  • Supporting material for roles, responsibilities and delegations of authority
  • Negotiation aids
  • Spec writing guidance
  • Template tools for tender assessment/bid evaluation
  • Supplier selection/prequalification template process and documents
  • Procurement management templates (reporting, savings, register and plan)
  • Guidance and templates for supplier/contract performance monitoring & reporting
  • High level review and commentary on your Conditions of Contract/Ts&Cs

We will advise you of the recommended package of deliverables suitable to you that we consider we can offer and confirmation of the proposed fee. We will also provide a copy of our standard terms & conditions of service.

Agree introductory package, contract term and fee

Term usually minimum two years with right to cancel anytime thereafter. Agreement on terms & conditions of service would also be finalised at this point.

Sign up to PAMS

Once you have signed the contract (and, where applicable, given us an order number), the service would commence immediately and the first [monthly] payment would be made a month later.

Development and supply of introductory package of deliverables

Includes customer contact/visits to you for briefing and handover for each of the deliverables.

The Procurement Advice and Mentoring Service is a an ‘enabling’ service to help you to do your procurement, and do it well, and to help resolve your specific procurement-related issues and needs as and when they arise; beyond this, we can also undertake specific commissions and do specific pieces of work on a consultancy services basis, such as:

  • Specific project procurement or contract strategy development
  • Competency assessment and production of personal development and training plans
  • Full [re]design of your procurement functional organisation
  • Production of a populated procurement positioning matrix
